TheatreWorks of SoIN is pleased to announce that tickets for the musical The Secret Garden are now available. Performances will take place at TheatreWorks of SoIN’s home in the former historic Indiana State Bank Building (203 E. Main Street) in Downtown New Albany. The Secret Garden is based on the classic novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett and tells the story of 11 year-old Mary Lennox who returns to Yorkshire to live with her reclusive Uncle Archibald and his invalid son, Colin. The estate's many wonders include a magic garden which beckons the children.
Performances are May 8 - 11 & 15 - 18 at 7:30 p.m. and May 12 & 19 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $18 for adults and $16 for seniors and students. Additional pricing and purchasing information can be found online at this link. If you have trouble getting tickets online, you can call 812-725-7601.
The Secret Garden marks the directorial finale for outgoing artistic director Chris Bundy. Chris
shared, “Along with the hauntingly beautiful score, performed to perfection by this marvelous
cast, the elaborate technical elements contribute in bringing this classic story to life in a
memorable way that is sure to please our audiences.”
The musical director, Hannegan Roseberry, said, “This show is about the profound weight of
grief and the redemptive power of love. These characters are hurting and angry, but begin to
heal through the power of human connection. The musical score is sweeping, ambitious, and
absolutely beautiful. This is a show audiences will not want to miss.”
Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy “Monty Python and the Holy Grail,” Spamalot retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people. Did we mention the bevy of beautiful show girls? The 2005 Broadway production won three Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
Perfomrances are May 9th thru 26th. More information can be found here.
