In this two-week intensive, student-playwrights will give Shakespeare a run for his money working closely with accomplished playwright (and Walden Theatre Conservatory alum) Diana Grisanti.
We’ll write one-minute plays, ten-minute plays, and maybe even get started on something longer. We’ll ask the questions: How do you capture the audience’s attention? How do you sustain it? How do you craft a narrative that’s compelling? Dynamic? ALIVE?
The class will culminate in a staged reading with professional actors. In other words, students will get to experience their dramatic writing as it’s meant to be experienced: Out loud!
This program is a great prep for those planning to enroll in CTC's fall Playwriting class and submit work for CTC's Young Playwrights Festival and/or the New Voices Festival at Actors Theatre.
Workshop will be July 29th - August 9th, 10am-noon, Mondays through Fridays for Ages 13-18. Information and enrollment can be found here.
